Troop 65 - Stockbridge Takes Flight

Writer: Santana FlaniganSantana Flanigan

Troop 65 - Stockbridge visited the Aviation History and Technology Center in Marietta, Georgia as part of the Aviation Merit Badge. Scouts learned about Georgia's rich aviation history as they toured the 10 military aircraft and 3 civilian aircraft on display. Scouts were able to go inside an Air Force Transport (Lockhead YC-141B StarLifter) where they were able to take control of the cockpit and learn how the military used this massive aircraft to transport essential military supplies around the world. They also went inside a Lockheed L-329 JetStar 731, a luxury private jet owed by country singer Kenny Rogers. Learn more about the Aviation History & Technology Center by visiting htts://ahtc360.org.

There's more to Scouting than just outdoor activities! With over 150 merit badges, there's something for everyone!
